Tuesday, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) updated its toolkit to guide states in mitigating the prevalence of COVID-19 within nursing homes. The toolkit is a compilation of information providing detailed quality improvement resources, and addresses issues including infection control, workforce and staffing, and use of telehealth. The agency previously cautioned that the toolkit is provided solely as an “informational product, and is “not intended as guidance from CMS.”
The toolkit includes:
- States actions for COVID-19 management and response;
- Information on telehealth; and
- Organizations available to assist nursing homes.
