Flu Season that is.  According to the CDC, approximately 17 million workdays a year are lost during flu season.  Tens of thousands of people are hospitalized, and thousands die from flu-related illnesses each year! Keeping patients safe from infection is everyone’s responsibility.

Here are some ways to help protect your patients from illnesses:

  • Clean your hands before and after providing care
  • Follow ALL posted precaution signs
  • Use personal protective equipment, glove, gown, mask or face shield appropriately
  • Keep patient’s environment and equipment clean

Make certain that you are doing your part by:

  • Staying home if you are sick
  • Get vaccinated

Incorporate educational and supportive processes in your everyday patient interactions by:

  • Educating patients on Infection Prevention
  • Knowing if antibiotics are appropriate
